Birthday Thoughts on Passions and Priorities

A heartfelt rap from Eminem says it well: Never let your passions, drive, and obsessions damage the relationships that ultimately sustain you.

As I approach the ripe old age of 55 this coming week, I think about what's most important and become ever more appreciative of family, friends, and colleagues, many of whom I've met through the blog.

Many thanks--

That reminds me of Harry Chapin's Cats in the Cradle.

I hope it doesn't resonate for my future kids.

Dr. Steenbarger,

Oh my God!!! You're turning 55?! Now? But then, your sign of the Zodiac is Virgo...

55 (years) is part of the Fibonacci sequence , if you translate your first and last name into numbers and add their square roots (as per the Idiot's Wave Almanac) you get 18, which is part of the Lucas sequence!

Virgo is the sixth sign of the Zodiac and 6 is the first integer number that is not part of either the Fibonacci or the Lucas sequence...

You know what this means???!!!

Record trading profits for the new fiscal year, excellent health for all of your family and eternal bliss.

Best wishes (not that you need them with those stars watching over you, mind you ;))

The happiest of Happy Birthdays, sweetheart!

Relationships anchored within a life void of passion can't compensate for its lack, and life passion without sustaining and stimulating relationships is a drag also! You got both, and you aim to keep both. No faultin' that. Keep truckin'.
